on april 29, the dam of the jinchuan hydropower station constructed by chn energy on the dadu river, was filled with over 2.5075 million cubic meters of earth, laying a solid foundation for the dam’s completion.
the jinchuan hydropower station is located in jinchuan county and barkam city, aba zang (chinese name for “tibetan”) and qiang autonomous prefecture, sichuan province. with a total installed capacity of 860 megawatts, the dam is featured by the concrete panel and stacked stone structure with a maximum height of 112 meters, a dam top width of 10 meters, a dam top length of 275.8 meters, and a dam top elevation of 2258 meters. the dam body is located on a deep cover layer with a maximum depth of 65 meters, containing a total filling volume of approximately 4.56 million cubic meters.
